Carved Hollows
for Native Wildlife

Restoring arboreal habitats for native birds, bats, gliders, and other native species

improving local biodiversity

Working with land holders to provide lasting habitat

In Australia we have more than 300 hollow dependant species. But, due to deforestation and bushfires, there is a growing lack of natural hollows in the environment to support their needs. And new hollows can take hundreds of years to develop naturally.

We can address this critical shortage by carving new hollows into salvaged logs and standing trees using specialised tools like the Hollow Hog, invented by Australian conservation biologist Matt Stephens.

At Tree Folk we work with landholders to improve biodiversity and overall ecosystem health with thoughtful installation of custom made carved hollows.
